Black oil-free ignition of pulverized coal boilers

COTES Engineering performs turn-key implementation of the black oil-free ignition and pulverized coal flare burning stabilization systems of the boilers on the basis of the fuel electroionization ignition technology.

Advantages of the electroionization igniters for the fuel ignition

The technology is based on an electrochemical ignition mechanism by intensifying ionization processes in the boundary layer at the base of the flare. The technology was first tested by OOO COTES-Nauka in 2009 and is protected by patent No. 2410603.

Diffuse electric discharge affecting the pre-flame flare area ensures heterogeneous chemical reactions at low temperatures before volatiles exit, which allows igniting cold air mixture and provides burning of low-reaction fuel as a flare.

Using black oil-free ignition systems permits to:

  • refuse of the additional start-up fuel;
  • optimize fuel burning mode;
  • expand the burned coal nomenclature;
  • expand the range of boiler loads;
  • ensure fire safety of the ignition process;
  • improve environmental component;
  • automate boiler ignition and startup processes.

Application of the electroionization technology allows lighting and ignition of the boilers without the use of black oil, and stabilizing the fuel burning, especially at low loads. It is possible to apply on TPP boilers, boiler houses and industrial facilities of Russia, CIS countries, etc.
